 AHSA Mission Statement

 AHSA is multi-breed horse show organization dedicated to serve and promote the best interests of AHSA recognized competitions and our exhibitors.

 The Appalachian Horse Show Association began over 30 years ago and now has members and Recognized Horse Show Exhibitions in many states,  Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina.  We welcome members from all areas to join and help us grow.

 We provide leadership and support in local horse shows and equine events. AHSA is active in supporting growth of the regional horse shows,   events, learning clinics and agricultural programs, training and boarding facilities and breeding industry in our regions.

 We work with government representatives and regional tourism agencies to promote our equine industry and Appalachian culture.

 Members compete to earn points for exhibiting at affiliated AHSA shows.

 Members that earn the most points in the class they nominate for are presented with High Point awards at our year end High Point Awards dinner.

 Through our commitment, experience, and expertise, the AHSA has established a lasting relationship with our members.

 Our official and legal membership & show affiliation forms now available to print from this website under Membership Forms.

 Our  address is now AHSA  PO Box 306 in Nickelsville VA

 Members will receive discounts at selected businesses and services with your 2010 AHSA membership card.

 NO MORE GUESSING ABOUT YOUR POINTS STANDINGS! We will supply all members with point updates as they are requested in a timely  manner. We encourage all members to keep their own running tally of points to compare and verify.

 New for High Point Awards in 2010: For sponsored High Point Classes selected awards will be presented such as

 Saddle*Halters*Statues*Silver Plates*Gift Certificate for Services, Tack and other items.

 You can be a class sponsor and select the award for your favorite class!

 2010 AHSA Sanctioned Show printable list  under our Show Bill and Calendar pages are available.

 

New High Point Classes this year!

***High Point Classes Have Been Updated As Of March 19th 2010.  Some Of AHSA Class Rule Updates For 2010 Are :***

Updates to Arabian foot requirements and Western Performance Divisions-Changes to Walk/Jog classes and Hunter Classes.

Addition of novice exhibitor classes such as Green Hunter Walk/Trot, Beginner Walk/Jog, Green Reining and Green Working Cow classes. AHSA has joined the GREEN movement. These classes help to protect novice riders and encourage new opportunities to progress exhibitor skills.

Cross Entries are allowed unless indicated on High Point List. Example: Adult Walk/Jog may enter in Western Pleasure & Open Walk/Jog Classes

English Walk/Trot  may enter into Hunter Under Saddle as well as Open Classes. Only Beginner, Green Rider and classes noted as no cross entry are restricted. Less headache for show managers, less frustration for exhibitors and more classes available for competition.

Rules updates are in progress. We welcome anyone that would like to help us with these rule updates

Please be aware there is not another legitimate website for AHSA. Only members that register with the membership forms from this AHSA legal site are joining the official and legal Appalachian Horse Show Association Inc. Only those members will be  eligible for AHSA sanctioned High Point Award show points.
